Ostara Wish Egg Ritual
Ostara, or Eostre or Eastre, is the Germanic Goddess of spring and dawn. She is the Goddess of the Spring Equinox
Preparation:
Set aside time in a quiet, undisturbed space to focus on the ritual.
Gather your materials: refillable eggs, bio glitter (such as rose petals and leaves), crystals, your Ostara essential oil blend, a small bowl of water, a candle (green or yellow), flowers, and any other meaningful items for your altar.
Casting the Circle:
Stand at the center of your space, take a few deep breaths, and visualize roots extending from your feet into the earth, grounding you. Light your yellow or green candle and invoke
Ostara, saying:
Ostara, Goddess of Spring and Renewal,
I call upon your presence and your power.
Bless this sacred circle as we celebrate your light and fertility.
Walk clockwise around your space, saining with Ostara Blend Incense as you go. Visualize a shimmering circle around you, separating the sacred from the mundane.
Once you complete the circle, return to the center and visualize it glowing with vibrant energy, marking it as a space outside of ordinary time and space.
Blessing the Ostara Wish Eggs:
Decorate reusable eggs as you desire. Hold each refillable egg in your hands, one by one, and meditate on the wish you’ve written down. Visualize it coming true and infuse the egg with your intentions. Put the wish inside the egg.
Place a drop of your Ostara essential oil blend into each egg, symbolizing the season’s essence.
Add crystals and bio glitter to each egg, representing the earth’s energy and the sparkle of your wishes.
As you hold each egg, pray to Ostara, asking for her blessings on your wishes and intentions.
Ostara, Goddess of Spring’s embrace,
Bless this egg with your grace.
Infuse my wish with light and love,
As it journeys to the skies above.
May your blessings guide its way,
And bring fruition without delay.
Ostara, hear my humble plea,
Bless this wish and Blessed Be.
Placing the Eggs on the Altar:
Arrange the blessed eggs on your altar, surrounding them with flowers and other symbols of spring.
Lightly cover the eggs with a cloth or nest of grass, allowing them to rest undisturbed for one moon cycle.
During this time, revisit your altar regularly to meditate on your wishes and strengthen your connection with Ostara.
Returning the Materials to the Earth:
After the moon cycle has passed, Light a yellow or green candle and then take each egg outside and carefully open it, releasing the bio glitter (rose petals and leaves) back to the earth.
As you do this, offer a prayer of thankfulness:
Ostara, Goddess of Spring, thank you for your blessings and guidance.
As I return these materials to the earth, may my wishes be carried on the wind
And may they blossom and grow in harmony with the natural world. Blessed be.
Visualize your wishes being carried away by the wind, knowing that they are now in the hands of the universe.
Closing the Circle for both days:
Give thanks to Ostara for her presence and blessings during the ritual.
Visualize the circle shrinking back into the candle’s flame, gradually fading until it disappears completely.
Bid farewell to the sacred space, knowing its blessings will stay with you.
Snuff out the candle, marking the end of the ritual.
